A quick and simple infinity cowl

This cute cowl is perfect to wear when out cycling wrapped around your neck keeping you nice and snug. It can then be unwrapped once your journey is over into a stylish long cowl. Cadence means the rhythm cyclists get into when pedalling, and this cowl suits its name as it is easy to get into a rhythm of stitches and it grows quickly.

This pattern is easy to crochet and suitable for beginners. It uses three different colours of DK weight yarn and features alternating stripes of different stitches.

Cadence Cowl is part of a matching set with Handlebar Hands and Helmet Head, all inspired by the Tour de France coming to Yorkshire in 2014 and is available to download together as the Peloton Collection.

Sizes:

One size – 132 cm (52″) circumference by 16 cm (6.5″) wide

The size can be adjusted by adding or removing stitches and/or rows.

Yarn:

DK weight yarn.

baa ram ewe Winterburn DK: 50% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 50% Masham wool, 230m (252 yds) in 100g in colourways: Endeavour, Viking and Bramley Baths
One skein of each colour

Rowan Tweed yarn (118m per 50g ball; 100% wool), colourways 598 Monsal Dale, 599 Dove Dale and 601 Beresford
One ball of each colour

Needles & Notions:

4mm (US G) crochet hook

Gauge:

17 stitches and 13 rows per 10 cm x 10 cm measured over lace pattern in DK weight yarn.
